1. Introduction
Thank you for purchasing our Bluetooth
®
wireless technology mobile telephone
interface. This interface is designed to provide integration of your Jaguar vehi-
cle’s built in mobile phone capabilities and your Bluetooth
®
enabled mobile
phone. Below is a list of components and tools that you will need. Some you
should have received or may have purchased separately. This document is de-
signed to be a supplemental guide to installation and is not a substitute for profi-
cient knowledge and ability to successfully complete the installation. Please note
that your vehicle may vary from what is depicted in this document and European
Integrated Systems, Ltd (EIS) cannot be held responsible for damage as a result
of improper installation. If you are not comfortable with what you read we en-
courage you to seek professional installation assistance.
You will need the following components to complete the installation:
• Argos™ interface module
• Installation and operations guide
• Fiber Optic harness (custom for your car)
• 25pin Adapter Harness
• Jaguar OEM microphone (purchased
separately if needed)
• Wire ties or tie-wraps
• Flat head and Phillips head screwdrivers
• Metric wrenches (for removal of old phone and cradle if appli-
cable)
This kit provides integration of a Bluetooth® enabled phone with the car’s stereo
for radio mute and use of the built in Jaguar radio speakers. The OEM built in
microphone is also utilized. The steering wheel buttons work for answering a call
and hanging up, as well as volume control during a call. The phone can be set to
automatically connect with the car upon starting the car. Everything is mounted
in the trunk and there are no wires to run. No wires to cut and in most cases no
re-programming at the dealer is required. It will just work!

2: Microphone installation procedure
(required if you don’t have a mic pre-
installed - you may wish to check with your dealer)
Gaining access to the location
1. You will need to remove the overhead console
that houses the Homelink control buttons, dome
lights, etc. Gently pry this entire housing away
from the headliner.
2. The microphone will mount in the center of the
console and snaps in place.
3. The small black plastic choke mounts to the side
with one phillips screw.
4. Finally attach the microphone cable to the over-
head console unit.
5. Re-assemble the overhead console.
The final result!

3. Argos installation
Gaining access to the location
1. The first thing you will need to do is remove the drivers (left) side trunk liner.
You will then need to take up the carpet of the trunk.
2. Unscrew and remove the black plastic screws
in the black plastic trim piece at the back of the
trunk enough to be able to pry the liner away.
Unscrew the black trim piece on the floor on
the left side (just to loosen it enough to bend
the liner back).
3. There is a small plastic tab that helps hold the
liner in place. This can be pried out with a
small flat head screwdriver.
4. Remove the liner - you can bend it some as it
is quite resilient.
5. The arrow is pointing to the telephone
connector.
Connecting Argos™
to your vehicle re-
quires using two connectors. One is a
25pin connector harness that will plug
into the Jaguar phone connector and a
black colored Fiber Optic connector that
will be mated to the orange fiber optic cable that came with your Argos unit.
CAUTION - take care handling the Fiber Optic cables so as not to damage them
by bending to tightly or crimping.
